About: Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of people campaigning to protect human rights. The stated objective of the organisation is “to conduct research and generate action to prevent and end grave abuses of human rights, and to demand justice for those whose rights have been violated.” Around the world, Amnesty International protects people and communities who come under attack, encourage governments and others to respect human rights and raise awareness of the international standards that protect us all.
Amnesty International is the world’s largest human rights organisation with a global movement of 4.6 million supporters across 150 countries, including over 250,000 supporters from Australia working to defend human rights and dignity.
